Ras Al Khaimah: UAE’s Laid-Back Luxury & The Future of Travel, Events, and Investment

By Payal Saini | Travel Links Magazine & TravelLinksLive Explore, Uncover, and Experience the Best of Travel with Travel Links Magazine as your Guide

If you think you’ve seen everything the UAE has to offer—wait until you visit Ras Al Khaimah. A serene escape tucked away from Dubai’s buzz, RAK is where nature, adventure, and lifestyle come together in the most elegant way. On our recent personal trip for Travel Links Magazine and TravelLinksLive, we discovered a side of the UAE that’s quieter, cleaner, more scenic—and surprisingly more luxurious.

From staying in the charming Al Hamra village to witnessing breathtaking sunsets by the beach, every moment in Ras Al Khaimah was a reminder of how good life can truly be when things slow down.

Our Stay in Al Hamra: Where Elegance Meets Ease

We stayed in Al Hamra, one of the most beautiful and peaceful corners of Ras Al Khaimah. Surrounded by lush golf courses, peaceful cycling tracks, and well-paved walking paths, it’s the kind of place where your morning coffee comes with a sea breeze and the sound of birds, not traffic.

We were ideally located—close to the iconic Waldorf Astoria, the charming Banan Beach, and just a stone’s throw from the shoreline. Whether it was a leisurely morning walk along the promenade or watching the sky turn gold and pink during sunset, the area has a way of slowing you down—in the best way possible.

Life here felt like a postcard. Every sunset was cinematic. The open roads, the landscaped surroundings, and the feeling of space made Al Hamra feel like a retreat—yet with all the comforts of luxury living.

Jebel Jais: Flying High on the World’s Longest Zipline

As much as we were drawn to the slow life, adventure called—and Ras Al Khaimah delivered. We experienced the world’s longest zipline at Jebel Jais, flying over the rugged peaks of the Hajar Mountains at speeds exceeding 150 km/h.

Suspended over dramatic landscapes, the experience was not just a thrill, but a statement—this Emirate is full of surprises. For outdoor lovers, the area also offers viewing platforms, hiking trails, and even mountaintop dining.

Perfect for Events, Weddings & Celebrations

With its pristine beaches, desert backdrops, and majestic mountains, Ras Al Khaimah is emerging as one of the most desirable wedding and events destinations in the region. Whether it’s a private beach ceremony, a lavish celebration in a luxury resort, or a corporate retreat, the options are endless.

With over 140 new hotels on the horizon—including globally renowned names like Nobu, Waldorf, and InterContinental—RAK is building the infrastructure to support world-class events and grand weddings, minus the chaos and crowds of larger cities.

From intimate to extravagant, Ras Al Khaimah offers a blank canvas where every event can become a once-in-a-lifetime memory.

Quality of Life: A Different Kind of UAE

One thing we kept saying to each other throughout the trip: “This is the UAE, but better.”

The roads are smooth and traffic-free, the air is clean, and there’s an overwhelming sense of space and peace. Unlike Dubai, which always feels like it’s running a race, RAK walks with grace.

The Emirate truly offers a higher quality of life—ideal for those who want luxury without the stress. Whether you’re enjoying a sunset cycle along the coast, playing a round of golf, or sipping cocktails with mountain views, life here feels both grounded and elevated.

The Future is Bright: Investment & Development in RAK

While it offers calm today, Ras Al Khaimah is preparing for a bold future. The Emirate is poised to become home to the world’s largest casino, marking its arrival on the global luxury and entertainment map.

Beyond hospitality, RAK is a major free zone—attracting investors from around the world. Whether you’re looking to buy property, start a business, or relocate, RAK provides opportunities in real estate, tourism, events, and sustainable development.

It’s one of the few places where you can invest in the future and enjoy the present—all while living in one of the most beautiful corners of the Gulf.

Final Reflections: The Soul of the Sane UAE

For us, Ras Al Khaimah was the kind of journey that makes you pause and reevaluate what matters—space, peace, clean surroundings, community, and the luxury of time. We returned feeling refreshed, optimistic, and honestly, already missing it.

Whether you’re looking to plan a dreamy beach wedding, explore an untapped adventure spot, or invest in the next big thing—Ras Al Khaimah is ready for you. And trust us, it’s even more beautiful when you experience it for yourself.
