Interview: Dietitian Ekta

Q1. Please describe the initial years of your journey and what made you what you are today?

Ans. My goal was very clear to become a dietitian the moment my mother introduced me with this domain. With this clear vision I moved forward with my studies and later worked in government hospitals and under senior dietitians. After gaining enough experience, with my family’s support I managed to open my own clinic in the year 2014 and since then I’ve been working here.

Q2. What were the challenges you faced while pursuing your career and how did you overcome them?

Ans. The only challenge I faced was people mocking me as I was very young when I opened my own clinic. Also, being new in Delhi I had to rush early back to my apartment and couldn’t work late due to safety. Time has always been limited, but Shahpur Jat has been a great place to work. This entrepreneurship has turned  a girl inside me into confident woman.

Q3. Please tell our young readers about the field and dietitian as a career?

Ans. At the beginning it was a challenging job for me for being financially stable. My family definitely helped me but gradually investing time and hard work has paid off. I believe in providing a service of health to my patients and therefore the trust build up between us is the major key to my growth. Since I prefer homemade recipes and material for diets, people like it and as they see the result a relation is built.

Q4. On this Women’s day, please provide a small message for our readers.

Ans. Do not fear what people say and do whatever you want to do. After years nobody is going to remember mocking you or pulling you behind but if you choose another path because of people you might regret it later. Go on the path where your heart takes you and trust yourself.

Set a goal and work hard to achieve it.

On this Women’s day, say yes to health.
