ITB Berlin Cancelled: After a long wait, I ended up at the greatest festival of travel, ITB Berlin along with a publishing house of travel. An enthralling experience and a spectacular festival I wish to visit it again in the coming future.

As the first issue of Travel Links Magazine was launched, I felt my dream of 14 years coming true. I planned to visit ITB Berlin 2020 with the best issue of our magazine. It was after SATTE, a travel fair in India where we went with our second issue and met a couple of clients and received some motivating response.

After going through the details of ITB Berlin 2019, in the month of January, I finally approached the biggest festival of travel in the world and after filling all the formalities. It was time to take my dream at its destination. But the outbreak of COVID-19 took a major turn. With the continuous spread of the virus in Europe, the saddest news came that ITB Berlin cancelled. It took some time to sink in. Is ITB Berlin cancelled? I kept asking myself. It was two days prior to the festival was about to begin. All my bags were packed and we felt that there was no turning back.

LANDING IN GERMANY

I was about to meet one of our families in Germany. Because of the expensive flight, Hotel bookings and suggested by my family to take a vacation, I finally took off for Germany. An official trip turned into a vacation, but would be one of the fondest memories of my life.

With a drink by my side and the cold weather my journey started. After 15 hours of flight, I finally reached Munich and took the bus to Ingolstadt to meet my cousins. A beautiful house situated in the countryside, living there was itself a beautiful experience. In spite roaming like a tourist, I chose living like locals and breathe in the air of the country.

The trip was full of new experiences and beautiful destinations and places to visit in Germany. A family picnic in Ingolstadt to the nightlife in Berlin, every single bit of it was mesmerizing, not to mention my beer…
