Maharashtra Invites the World: State Gears Up to Become a Global Hub for MICE Tourism

With the objective of establishing Maharashtra as a preferred global destination for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism, the Government of Maharashtra, through its Department of Tourism, is effectively implementing key initiatives under the Maharashtra Tourism Policy 2024. A year after launching these initiatives, the state now invites organisers, delegates, and industry
stakeholders from across the globe to host world-class events in Maharashtra and be part of
this growing opportunity.
At the heart of this initiative is the Maharashtra Convention Bureau, the first of its kind in any state in India, which has moved from concept to a fully functioning institution. The Maharashtra Convention Bureau was announced on 21 May 2025 at IMEX Frankfurt by a state delegation led by the Honourable Minister of State for Tourism, Shri Indranil Naik, and the Deputy Secretary, Department of Tourism, Shri Santosh Rokade. Headquartered in  Mumbai and led by the Additional Chief Secretary (Tourism), the Bureau brings government and industry together on a single platform, with an initial focus on the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.
