IATO signs an MoU with Nepal Association of Nepal Association of Tour & Travel Agents (NATTA)

To enhance tourism between India and Nepal, a Memorandum of Association (MoU) was signed between Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) and Nepal Association of Tour & Travel Agents (NATTA)  in Kathmandu today.

Mr. Ravi Gosain, President, Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) and Mr. Kumar Mani Thapaliya, President, Nepal Association of Tour & Travel Agents (NATTA) signed the MoU today at Buddhist International Travel Mart (BITM 2025) being held in Kathandu in the presence of  Hon’ble Mr. Badri Prasad Pandey, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Civil aviation and Mr. Deepak Raj Joshi – CEO of Nepal tourism board

  • Facilitate and increase two-way tourism flows and sustainable tourism growth;
  • Promoting strategic partnerships among member organizations and stakeholders;
  • Enhancing mutual visibility in international markets and platforms.
  • Exchange of tourism-related data, research, trends, and promotional materials;
  • Notification of policy changes in visa, immigration, or tourism regulation that may affect members of either Party;
  • Coordination to enable cooperation among government tourism bodies and private sector operators;
  • Facilitate  B2B meetings, networking sessions, and joint conventions between Indian and Nepali travel entrepreneurs;
  • Participation and representation in major trade fairs, expos, and annual conventions (e.g., IATO Annual Convention, NATTA Convention);
  • Joint promotional campaigns for cross-border tour packages, pilgrimage circuits, heritage trails, and adventure tourism;
  • Organizing familiarization/study tours for travel agents, influencers, and media professionals;
  • Encouraging knowledge transfer on legal, marketing, and digital tools to empower members.
